The?Role?and?Purpose
The?role?is?responsible?for?providing?infrastructure?scoping?and?design?services?to?technology?Delivery?departments,?helping?delivery?(product)?teams?and?architects?make?informed?strategic?adoption?decisions?for?infrastructure?solutions?and?cloud?services?that?are?aligned?to?Infrastructure?strategy.
Solutions?will?be?driven?by?operational?and?product?(functional)?requirements,?and?the?solutions?agreed?on?must?re-use?global?standards,?deliver?value?for?money?and?have?appropriate?security.
The?role?supports?development?of?FIL’s?DevOps?practices?and?FIL’s?‘Cloud?First’?Strategy?and?should?be?able?to?champion?adoption?and?clearly?communicate?and?feedback?requirements?to?stakeholders.
The?role?is?required?to?engage?directly?with?new?strategic?initiatives?as?well?as?maintain?contact?and?on-going?support?to?“in-flight”?project/?programme?engagements.??The?role?also?acts?in?consort?with?the?overall?TIS?Architecture?function?that?is?building?global?capability,?providing?consistent?levels?of?technical?consultancy?services?and?acting?as?a?trusted?advisor.
It?is?expected?that?the?role?maintains?an?active?set?of?engagements?and?their?status?and?uses?time?effectively?to?deliver?the?scoping?and?design?services.
The?candidate?will?also?participate?in?the?decisions?driving?the?definition?of?new?cloud?services?for?FIL?–?and?will?work?closely?with?the?cloud?engineering?team?proposing?and?agreeing?engineering?activity?and?‘Proof?of?Concepts.
Furthermore?the?role?ensures?that?the?established?Services?available?in?TIS?are?re-used?where?applicable,?and?adopted?by?Delivery?teams?to?ensure?compliance?to?security?standards?and?agreed?Architecture?patterns.
Responsibility
Liaise?with?Application?and?Data?Architecture?functions?to?discuss?and?agree??????application?patterns?and?forecast?services?required?for?engineering?teams??????(Cloud,?On?Premise?Platforms,?and?Services).Work?with?above??????teams?regionally?and?globally?to?determine?best?strategy?to?support?and??????further?develop?existing?applications?services.?Must?be?able?to?delve?deep??????into?existing?application?architecture?and?help?facilitate?progressive?and??????sustainable?application?lifecycles.Collaboratively??????develop?roadmaps?defining?approach?to?current?and?future?application?real??????estate?with?consideration?of?ultimately?leveraging?Cloud?as?a?delivery??????platform.Maintain??????Industry?knowledge?and?Vendor?roadmaps?–?develop?thought?leadership?in?FIL??????and?promote?Infrastructure?standardisationForm?strong??????working?relationships?with?Business?Solutions?Architects?and?the??????Enterprise?Architecture?group?to?ensure?alignment?of?strategies.?This?will??????involve?articulating?TIS?strategy?to?the?broader?technology?group?and??????likewise?facilitating?communication?of?Business?strategy?and?development??????goalsProvide??????technical?oversight?during?initial?solution?design?processes?for?new??????projects,?which?will?involve?reviewing?proposals?and?seeking?solutions??????from?subject?matter?experts?(product?owners)?across?the?Infrastructure??????DepartmentParticipate?and??????contribute?to?developing?Infrastructure?strategy?through?Product?Owner??????forums,?where?roadmaps?and?strategy?are?set.?Assist?whenever?necessary?the??????TIS?‘Product?Owners’?to?create?and?maintain?roadmaps?for?their?products??????and?ensure?such?roadmaps?fit?the?holistic?infrastructure?strategy.??????Identify?strategic?engineering?initiatives?and?gain?sponsorship?for??????initiatives?as?required?through?the?engineering?function.Working?with??????Project?Managers?during?delivery?phases?of?selected?projects,?to?ensure?delivery??????of?professionally?engineered?and?supportable?solutions?that?meet?business??????requirements.Maintain?a?view??????of?the?project?portfolio?with?Product?Owners?to?assist?and?influence?the??????planning?functions?within?TIS?to?identify?strategic?initiatives,?funding??????levels?and?timing?factors?for?delivery?of?Infrastructure?strategy??Provide?cross??????technology?leadership?and,?potentially?ownership,?for?complex??????infrastructure?problems.
Your?skills?and?experience
Experience?with?major?Cloud?platforms?and?service?providersA?passion?for??????requirements?led?design?with?a?drive?to?automate?and?“keep?solutions??????simple”?Exposure?to??????principals?and?solutions?for?defining?“Infrastructure?as?Code”?–?i.e.??????Configuration?management?practices?as?found?in?products?such?as?Terraform,??????Ansible,?Puppet,?Chef,?etc.Broad?range?of??????technology?infrastructure?experience,?with?a?specific?focus?on?Cloud??????solutions?(internal,?public?and?hybrid).?Knowledge?of??????virtualisation?technologies,?operating?systems,?monitoring,?performance?,??????automation?and?the?application?delivery?toolchain?(?CI/CD)?an?advantage?Experience??????working?in?a?highly?regulated?financial?environment?is?preferred,?with??????particular?exposure?to?ISO27001?industry?standards.??Working??????knowledge?and?experience?of?security?solutions?for?Identity?&?Access??????Management,?network?and?database?security,?virtualisation/private?and??????public?cloud?security,?Security?Information?&?Event?Management.Working??????knowledge?of?formal?architecture?models,?specifically?in?the?context?of??????security?(TOGAF?qualified?an?advantage)Ability?to?work??????as?part?of?a?Global?team,?to?take?the?initiative,?balance?workload?and??????prioritise?accordinglyInfluencing??????skills?and?ability?to?bring?together?diverse?stakeholders?and?attain?buy??????in?and?traction?to?the?implementation?of?infrastructure?solutions?for?the?benefit?of?the?Fidelity?(FIL)?business?and?ultimately?the?Customer?Good?communication?skills
